ALPINE, Texas (KOSA) - UPDATE: According to the Alpine ISD Facebook page, Law enforcement has searched AHS and found no credibility to the bomb threat.

All Alpine High School students have been safely released to their parents or guardians, or taken to Alpine Middle School for the remainder of the day.

Alpine Elementary School and Alpine Middle School will operate on their regular schedules.

A bomb dog has been called to the school out of an abundance of caution to further search the building.

The FBI is investigating the origins of the threat.

No one will be able to enter AHS for the remainder of the day, students will be able to pick up items left at the school in the morning.

The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office received information of a bomb threat at Alpine High School, Monday morning.

  • All students and school personnel were evacuated safely.
  • Sheriff’s Office deputies and other law enforcement officers are currently searching the school.
  • A bomb detection canine team has been notified and is en route to assist in the search. This incident is under investigation, and any applicable charges will be filed.

The district says there will be a 1 p.m. dismissal as campus is cleared:

“At 1:00 we will be doing a whole campus dismissal of campus students and staff. Law enforcement will be clearing the building all afternoon. AES and AMS will not be dismissing and will be in school the remainder of the day.

We will release students that have vehicles to leave for the day.

Those students will be with Mrs Low and she will verify by phone conversation that those students have permission to leave in their own vehicle. They will be bussed to front HS parking lot then released in own vehicle.

Other students will be released at Kokernot Park to their parents or guardians. They can pick them up at the swimming pool parking lot. Students must be checked out by staff to parents before they are able to leave.

Nobody will be able to re enter the building today.

Any students not picked up by 1:15 will be transported by the district to AMS and remain there until end of day dismissal.

Please be patient with us we work through a structured release for 300 students.

Dr. Michelle Rinehart, AISD Superintendent”
